The January 8, 2026 Immigration Practitioner Centre Continuing Professional Development Seminar’s
Event Title is ‘International Experience Canada’.

This seminar is especially timely, coinciding with the opening of the International Experience Canada (IEC) Program for the start of 2026.

Katie Laughlin, RCIC provides two hours of practical insight into the International Experience Canada Program, covering key aspects such as:

  • About the process
  • Eligibility: who can apply and participate
  • IEC-recognized organizations
  • Working Holiday, Young Professionals, and International Co-op (Internships) categories
  • How the pools work
  • Creating a profile
  • Rounds of invitations
  • Receiving an invitation and how to apply
  • Preparing for arrival
  • Extending participation or changing a work permit

A Question-and-Answer session follows each of the two presentation segments.

MEET THE SPEAKERS

Katie Laughlin

RCIC

International Experience Canada

Katie Laughlin brings a strong background in immigration and relocation, recruitment, and event management, giving her a clear understanding of the challenges involved in moving people from point A to point B. Her approach is rooted in candour, attention to detail, and open, consistent communication.

Katie is passionate about the opportunities immigration creates—whether it’s reuniting families, building diverse workforces, launching new business ventures, or sharing knowledge that contributes to Canada’s economy and communities. She finds it both meaningful and exciting to be part of this work.

Her dedication lies in helping employers and employees craft immigration strategies that are both time- and cost-effective. She is known for managing details with professionalism and precision to achieve results that meet everyone’s goals.

A Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) since 2015, Katie also brings valuable experience from her previous roles in human resources and recruitment, where she navigated the complexities of the Canadian immigration system firsthand.

She holds a Certificate in Immigration: Laws, Policies and Procedures from the University of British Columbia, a Human Resources Management Certificate from the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Simon Fraser University.
