ABOUT THIS SEMINAR

The June 4, 2026 Immigration Practitioner Centre Continuing Professional Development Seminar’s Event Title is ‘Student Portals and Police Certificates’.

This seminar provides an overview and updates on the use of student portals in the processing of Study Permits and Study Permit renewals. It also examines the complexities of obtaining Police Certificates, including when they are required, how and where to apply, processing time frames, validity periods, and varying requirements across jurisdictions.

The session highlights the practical challenges faced by applicants and authorized representatives, particularly given differing country-specific procedures, eligibility criteria for citizens and non-citizens, application methods, and associated fees. It also addresses situations where standard Police Certificates may not meet Canadian immigration and citizenship requirements.

The June 4, 2026 seminar features two experienced presenters who provide practical insights on the following topics:
  • Alexandra Callinan, Lawyer – Student Portals: Overview and Updates
  • Ankita Goyal, RCIC-IRB – Police Certificates: Processes, Time Frames, Costs, Methods of Application, and When Required

Each presentation concludes with a dedicated Question-and-Answer session.
This seminar provides Immigration Practitioners with essential guidance on navigating evolving digital processes and managing the complexities associated with Police Certificate requirements.
